In Roberta's work reality becomes wonderful and fantastic. It is a clash between a dream and the real world that contains a space full of symbolism. In her scenes, characters and ecosystems transform into marvelous beings full of light and life where the spectator becomes part of the forms and colors. Roberta creates a fantastic world where color and nature steal the spotlight.
In Paris she studied with artist Oli Nicole, In Oaxaca she studied with artist Marco Antonio Bustamante. After that she decided to be in Mexico City for a long period of time to explore and improve her technique interacting and collaborating with different artists. Later on until this day she settled and established in San Diego CA.
"I love the delicacy of fabrics, the looks of wild animals, the delicate movement of a peony, and the tenderness of an animated character. I feel my artwork is a tribute to wildlife, to all these beautiful majestic animals, the idea that someday we will only have them in movies, pictures, and paintings, haunts me. I want the viewers to fall in love all over again with them and hopefully create some consciousness about how important they are."
